Peshawar: The Finance Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched online budget system and thus all developing budget will now be available to everyone on the website. The system will benefit people, media personnel, government organizations and research institutions.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Finance, Sirajul Haq was the chief guest at the launching of the online system. This system is unique in the country as other provinces and federation have no access system to the expenditures.
Senior Minister Sirajul Haq termed the scheme a good omen and said public funds were sacred trust of the people. He said by launching the system they had presented themselves before the court of people. Siraj said the system would ensure transparency and it was an important step towards the e-governance policy of the government.
He said this would eliminate corruption and the performance of the government functionaries would be improved and accountability process would be established. He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department would too soon launch an online complaint system.
Provincial Minister for Information Technology, Shehram Khan Tarakai and high ranking officers attended the launching ceremony. Shehram Khan termed the launching of online budget system an important step of the Finance Department and congratulated the whole team of the department.
Earlier, the member of the Central Committee of PTI Capt. (Rtd) Mian Shahid called on the Senior Minister Sirajul Haq and discussed with him Khyber Pakhtunkhwa airline project.
The Senior Minister said privatization of the government institutions was not solution to the problems. He said government institutions should be activated and managed according to the aspiration of people.
He said the government was desirous to serve the people in real sense that was why working groups for different sectors had been constituted and in the light of their proposals and opinion, the performance of the institutions was being improved.
