Pre-Hajj departure of intending Hujjaj begins


KARACHI: The pre-Hajj departure of intending Hujjaj has commenced w.e.f. 8th September 2013 from Jinnah International Airport Karachi, Benazir Bhutto International Airport BBIAP Islamabad, Allama Iqbal International AIIAP Airport, Bacha Khan International BKIAP, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot and Sukkur Airports. The Pre-Hajj flight operations will continue for about one month. Besides national carrier, Saudia and Shaheen Air will also carry the intending Hujjaj to sacred land.

The Management of Civil Aviation Authority had made comprehensive arrangements for the Hajj operations for the facilitation of Hujjaj. To inspect the arrangements, DG CAA, Air Marshal Retd Khalid Choudhry visited BBIAP Islamabad, BKIAP Peshawar and Multan International Airport. Whereas, Deputy DG CAA, Air Vice Marshal Khawar Hussain visited JIAP Karachi, AIIAP Lahore and Quetta International Airport. In the conclusion of their visits, they have shown their satisfaction over the arrangements made by the respective airport management, finalized the pre-departure arrangements for intending Hujjaj and directed to put in all efforts to make this operation smooth and to ensure provision of all facilities to the travelling Hujjaj.

The CAA Management has chalked out the comprehensive arrangement for intending Hujjaj and deputed shiftwise Duty Officer Hajj with a team to extend / look after the facilities on round the clock basis. The facilities include A/C environment, filtered drinking water, special ablution and prayer places for ladies and gents with neat and clean environment, old age intending Hujjaj will be facilitated and guided specially with the help / coordination of scouts and staff of Ministry of Hajj. Voice recording will be aired containing Hajj instructions for the awareness of intending Hujjaj.

The Spokesman of CAA requested the general public to visit airports in minimum numbers in order to avoid congestions / security concerns during pre and post Hajj flights period at the airports. The visitors and their vehicles will undergo through all security checks and heavy vehicles are not allowed to enter the airports premises.
