QUETTA: Seven important proposals made by Senator Humayun Mandokhel member Senator Standing Committee on finance keeping in view political and social interests of people of Balochistan. According approval of these proposals Senate Committee sent them to national Assembly.

Stating this Senator Humayun Khan Mandokhel said these proposals are supply of electricity through solar plants to 300 villages. These 300 villages have been divided into three parts including Northern Balochistan, Southern Balochistan and Central Balochistan districts. PC-1 has been passed which should be included in the Planning Commission development programmes. Work on Zhob-Mughal Kot road and Mughal Kot-Dera Ismail Khan road should be started immediately. ADB has already approved funds. Expenditures are much higher on Mughal Kot road than other roads. Other routes are in very dilapidated condition.

Zhob By Pass project would be included in PSDP. Connecting Balochistan with this route would be of great benefit for the development of the province.

Senate Standing Committee accorded approval for establishing University in Zhob. It would help students from District Sherani, District Musakhel, district Loralai, District Killa Saifullah to continue their education while female students would also get an opportunity for education because tribal and other people of society do not allow their girls to acquire education away from their respective areas. This Universality would provide good opportunity to poor students of Pashtoon districts to continue their education.

Another proposal was about supply of gas to all districts of Balochistan through LPG or LNG plants because gas is produced in Balochistan and under international and national laws it is right of people of Balochistan that Central Government should ensure supply of gas to all the districts and people. It is also long standing demand of people of Balochistan.

Old Gwadar to China route via Quetta, Zhob, D G Khan to Kashghar should be revived because there is neither agriculture nor factors in the province nor other opportunities of employment from where people earn their livelihood. This project would provide employment opportunities to the people of Balochistan and Baloch and Pashtoon people would get maximum advantages.

Senator Mandokhel said it is not responsibility of National Assembly to accord immediate approval of these proposals.
