QUETTA: Quetta Valley is in grip of light intermittent rain. Hills around valley also received snow. According to details long awaited rainfall started Saturday-Sunday midnight and continued intermittently till Sunday afternoon. Nine millimetres of rain were recorded in Quetta. Mountains around Quetta Valley also received snow.
Reports of rainfall have also been received from Pishin, Chaman, Zhob, Killa Saifullah and Mastung. Ziarat valley and surrounding areas of Chauter, Baba Kharwari received snowfall which was still continuing when this report was prepared.
Rain and snow would eliminate dry weather diseases such as cough, respiratory problems, chest congestion etc. It would also help recharge depleting underground water level.
Weather turned cold following rainfall and snow over the hills around Quetta. Minimum temperature recorded here today was five Celsius and maximum was 8 Celsius.
Met office has forecast chances of rain/thunderstorm and snowfall at night.
