Retired SI among three fall prey to Karachi violence


Karachi: Retired sub inspector among three people were killed and three others injured in different areas of the city on Monday.

A 62yearold retired Sub inspector of police, Muhammad Bux Jatoi, son of Abdul Ghafoor Jatoi, was gunned down and his son Kashif Jatoi, 20, injured in firing by unidentified armed men near Orangi No 13, within the remit of Pakistan Bazaar police station.

The body and injured were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital ASH for medicolegal formalities and treatment, respectively. Pakistan Bazaar police said the victim received five bullets in upper torso and died before he could be taken to hospital, while his son was also injured in the incident.

Separately, a 35yearold man, Iqbal, son of Ghulam Rasool, was shot dead by unidentified armed men in ZMC area of Orangi Town, within the jurisdiction of Mominabad police station.

Mominabad police said the victim received one bullet in his head which proved fatal for him. Police said Iqbal was ex-councilor of area and also associated with a political party.

A40yearold police constable, Mushtaq, was gunned down by unknown armed assailants in Mominabad, Orangi Town. The body was shifted to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital ASH for an autopsy. Police said the victim received one bullet in his head. They said that the murder might be a target killing incident. FIR was not registered till filing this story.

Aziz, 40, son of Walidad, was wounded in firing by unknown miscreants in Bhains Colony within the remit of Sukkhan police station. The injured was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre JPMC for treatment. Police said that the victim received one bullet in his leg. The reason of firing couldn’t be ascertained. FIR was not lodged yet till filing this news.

Furqan, 30, was shot and wounded by an unknown person in Soldier Bazaar within the jurisdiction of Soldier Baazar police station. The injured was moved to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital ASH for treatment. Police said the victim was going in a bus when he was hit by a bullet from unknown direction. The case could not be registered filing this story.

A20year old Bakhtawar was wounded in firing by an unknown man in Malir 15. The injured was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre JPMC for treatment. Police said that the victim received the bullet in her neck. FIR was not lodged till filing the news.
