Man who became PM thru rigging snatching jobs: Bilawal

KHAIRPUR: Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said Sunday that the parliament had given employment to 16,000 people through an Act as it is the supreme and mother of all institutions, so they would not let anyone snatch their jobs.

“The man who became PM through rigging is snatching jobs from people,” he alleged while speaking at the convention of workers and notables held at the residence of CM’s advisor Manzoor Hussain Wasan in village Nawab Khan Wasan near Kotdiji in district Khairpur today. Bilawal said he had supported the affected employees and issued directions for filing an appeal in the court. He asked party workers to gear up for protests, for which a call would be given by PPP’s provincial chief.

He criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan for celebrating the completion of his three years in government which Bilawal claims it actually marks destruction. Bilawal said the common man had suffered more badly in the present government than any past regime. “Historic price hike and unemployment is PTI government’s real success,” he remarked.

The PPP chairman said that jiyalas would instal the people’s government of PPP that would serve the people. Recalling PPP’s 2008 government, he said Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) was introduced for the poorest of the poor women in the country and subsidies were offered to farmers while pro-labour laws were introduced to protect labour rights as well.

He said that people needed a government that could offer them relief. The PPP chairman said that the 2008 government had raised salaries of civilian employees by 120 pc. Bilawal said PPP never left the common man, soldiers and poor unattended in price hike. He said that PPP’s era had been synonymous with ‘employment’.

He said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had given employment to millions of people and even offered them jobs abroad, and Benazir Bhutto also gave jobs to people while Asif Ali Zardari government broke all records of employment provision, but now this ‘tyrant’ PM was snatching jobs from these workers.

He observed that what General Musharraf wanted to do was being done by Imran Khan, who closed Pakistan Steel Mills and rendered 10,000 workers unemployed. “PSM is Sindh’s asset which was established by ZA Bhutto,” he said.

PPP MNA Nafeesa Shah, Sayed Javed Ali Shah Jilani, Manzoor Hussain Wasan, MPA Sajid Ali Bhambhan, Nawab Khan Wasan, Sheeraz Ali Rajper, MPA Munawar Ali Wasan, Ghazal Sial and other PPP leaders were present on the occasion.
