LARKANA: Laptops have been provided to all the checking points here to ensure foolproof security to the routes of mourning processions and Majalis.

It was stated by SSP Imran Qureshi while talking to media persons here on Wednesday. He said that this modern system would identify criminals through Criminal Record Identification software as all the people coming in would be biometrically verified which had been made mandatory.

He said: “If any person is found involved in criminal activities or having any criminal record across the country, he will be identified and the system will inform police about his record automatically which will help police nab him timely.”

He said this technical system had also been introduced apart from Larkana in other Talukas of the district to control crimes and arrest criminals. He said laptops would ensure working of the system round the clock. “People belonging to different walks of life have appreciated the efforts of the cops to curb crimes in Larkana district but they opined that they need to see it practically not based on lip service alone,” he added.
